Fall Favorites Your Doradoodle Will Love (and a Few to Skip)

Hi Reader,

Can you feel it? The crisp air, the rustle of leaves, the golden glow that makes everything look just a little more magical. Fall has officially arrived — and there’s no better way to enjoy it than with your Doradoodle by your side.

Imagine this:
A slow Saturday morning. You pull on a sweater, grab a cup of cider, and head out to the pumpkin patch. Your Doradoodle trots beside you, tail wagging, nose twitching with every new scent. The two of you wander between rows of bright orange pumpkins, pausing for photos and maybe a playful romp through the leaves.

And when you get home? It’s snack time — for both of you.

Here are a few fall foods your Doradoodle can safely enjoy:

  • Pumpkin – Great for digestion and a natural fiber boost (just skip the pie filling).
  • Apples – Crunchy, sweet, and packed with vitamins. Remove the seeds and core.
  • Sweet Potatoes – Full of nutrients and a favorite for homemade dog treats.
  • Turkey – A wonderful source of lean protein (plain, unseasoned, and boneless).

But not everything from the Thanksgiving table is pup-approved.

Avoid:

  • Grapes and raisins – even a few can be toxic.
  • Onions, and chives – they can upset your dog’s stomach.
  • Anything with nutmeg, xylitol, or chocolate – all dangerous for dogs.

If you’re feeling creative, you can even bake some simple pumpkin pup cookies — just mix canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie), oat flour, and a beaten egg, then bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes. Your kitchen will smell amazing, and your Doradoodle will be forever grateful.

So this weekend, grab a leash, a cozy scarf, and your best friend.
Make memories. Take photos. Sneak a few safe bites of pumpkin together.

Because fall is better when shared with the one who makes every day feel like a new adventure.

Warmly,
Amy
