Life Inside the Nursery 🐾
|
Hi Reader, There’s something magical happening in Ivy’s nursery right now. The puppies are just four weeks old, and every day feels like watching a dozen tiny miracles unfold. When I walk into the nursery each morning, I’m greeted by a chorus of sleepy yawns and little tails thumping against the blanket. They’re growing stronger and more curious by the hour — and oh, those faces! They’re almost too cute for words. Last week, we began gently introducing them to our advanced service dog curriculum. It’s the sweetest thing to see — a tiny puppy pausing for a sound they’ve never heard before, looking up at me for reassurance, and then toddling forward with that “I’ve got this” confidence. This stage is all about helping them build resilience. We work on their startle reflex— exposing them to small surprises like new sounds or quick movements — so they learn the world isn’t something to fear. They recover quickly, shake it off, and move on with wagging tails. That’s how courage begins to grow. And speaking of courage — these little explorers have already decided their nursery boundaries are merely suggestions. I had to add a second wall this week because our overachievers figured out how to climb right over the first one! The inside rail had to go too. They’re determined to see the world, one tiny step at a time. I’m having the best time with this bunch. They’re smart, sweet, and full of personality — a mix of heart and curiosity that makes you fall in love all over again every day. We still have a few openings on our reservation list, and the puppies will be ready to go home November 12. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to welcome a Doradoodle into your life, this might just be it. ✨ Visit Ivy’s Nursery to see their latest photos and follow along as they grow.
